Every designer I know loves wallpaper, and here is the reason why: no matter how bad a wall is to begin with, it can be salvaged with wallpaper. It is actually one of the best ways to create fabulous walls in your home.
Now if you’re thinking about cabbage roses or nauseating repetitive patterns you may have had on your childhood bedroom walls, today’s wallpaper is nothing of the sort. There are some truly gorgeous options to choose from to spruce up your empty nest and make it speak to the life you are living now.
Wallpaper can add just a texture to walls; a classic example is grass cloth, which comes in hundreds of colors. It can cozy up a room, sync with other colors and textures, and just be a quiet, classy backdrop for whatever you want to hang on your walls. Hang this paper on one wall, all four walls, or just on the ceiling, framed with molding. Talk about taking your walls from “mundane” to “fabulous”!
In this redesigned guestroom for a client I used Phillip Jeffries “Bermuda Hemp” Grasscloth in Turquoise on the bed wall.
The next coolest thing going is grass cloth with a subtle geometric pattern, or a metallic thread running through it. Case in point: another Phillip Jeffries pattern called “Aligned” in Emerald Bliss.
Geometrics are also extremely popular now, and wonderful for covering one feature wall, such as a fireplace wall, bed wall, or an entry wall. This pattern is Candace Olsen “Quad” wallpaper in Grey/Charcoal.
The other very popular motif in wallpapers now is palm prints. The whole Palm Beach style, popularized in the big pink Beverly Hills hotel, is alive and well and being used in commercial spaces as well as homes. It’s a fun motif to use in a small space like a powder room, or in a relaxing space to take you back to warmer climes at any time of year. Patterns appear in bold greens, to quieter tones of green, so take your pick.
This pattern is “Palm Leaves” by Anthropologie.

the message home a bit, but instead of that, this is fantastic blog.

Hi there to every one, the contents present at this website are in fact amazing for people knowledge, well, keep up the good work fellows.
First of all I want to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing.
I’ve had a hard time clearing my thoughts in getting my thoughts out there.
I do take pleasure in writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes
tend to be lost just trying to figure out how to begin. Any recommendations or tips?
Thanks!
Hi Alice, thanks for your comments. I love to write but sometimes have trouble with the opening lines. So I start in the middle! Eventually it all fills in with the information I want to convey to the reader. So don’t worry about the beginning. Just start writing the info you want to share! Hope that helps!
Hey would you mind letting me know which webhost you’re using?
I’ve loaded your blog in 3 different internet browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot quicker then most.
Can you suggest a good web hosting provider at a reasonable price?
Many thanks, I appreciate it!
We use Go Daddy. Have a beautiful day!
You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic
to be really something which I think I would never understand.
It seems too complicated and very broad for me.
I’m looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the
hang of it!
Design is an area of expertise that not everyone has, but I’m sure you are very good at something else!
Great blog you have here but I was curious about if you knew of any discussion boards that
cover the same topics discussed in this article?

from other knowledgeable people that share the same
interest. If you have any suggestions, please let me know.
Bless you!
I’m amazed, I must say. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both educative and amusing, and without a doubt,
you have hit the nail on the head. The problem is an issue that not enough folks are
speaking intelligently about. I am very happy I found
this in my search for something concerning this.
Appreciate this post. Will try it out.
